Scrolls Discussion Off-Hands Preview of the Coming Scrolls
Efficiency Tiers:
1: Poor scroll, only useful in intricate decks
2: An interesting scroll that should work well for many decks
3: Great scroll that will be seen every often in almost every deck
Note: 7 scrolls are missing in this post, namely, Updated State Machine, Updated Machine Divinator, Machine Chant, Breaker, Magnetizer, Royal Banner and Corrode. I will add them later.
Refined Strategy (2): The first ability of this scroll is pretty good for any deck that uses Waking Stones, as it easily allows you to move them to any tile you want. Its second ability is lamentably not so useful, as it is only useful for the Mangonels (more on the Mystic Altar later). If this scroll were Energy, it would become a staple in any Structure Focused Energy Deck.
Supercharged (2): A nice scroll that would give Energy interesting offensive capabilities, and even though creatures can easily avoid this thread, it will still attack the idols.
Bloodline Taint (3): Fantastic scroll that would decimate all Order decks and most Growth and Decay decks.
Tempo Theft (3): Can be used as a makeshift Speed to reduce the countdown on that General.
Vigor Extraction (2): Interesting scroll for DO decks, apply it on any powerful creature on your opponent's side and get Decay Mana.
Untainted (3): Fantastic scroll that gives Growth a large advantage on Energy decks, because their removal spells will be useless. Now that Great Wolf will be more scary!
Watcher (1): Odd scroll that doesn't seem to have any use in any deck. Could only make sense against Energy and some Decay decks, but that's it.
Ilmire Tribesman (1): 3CD... enough said.
Aging Knight (1): Only makes sense during its first 3 turns, after that it's just garbage/chump blocker.
Uneasy Alliance (1): This is a bad version of the Stag Heart that lets your opponent **** all your units with this enhancement with a single attack. Don't even think about using this against Energy.
Mystic Altar (1): Useless because there isn't any Order creature that benefits from a larger countdown.
Appurtenance (2): Nice defensive scroll for the Growth faction, great in wolf decks. I would give it a three, buit Growth is more of a brute force faction, not a controlling/defensive one.
Caller's Bane (1): Uninteresting scroll, as it forces you to apply it to a creature that will attack an idol.
Royal Banner (2): Great scroll against Wolf Decks and Energy, otherwise useless.
Beetle Stone (pending): I don't really understand this scroll...
Berserker (3): Crazy good scroll that has great ATK and HP. It also heals itself and comes with an (old) Bloodboil.
Ire and Bile (1): This is just a worse Crimson Bull that helps your enemy.
Oak Blood (1): As I said before, defensive scrolls don't fit Growth's Metagame. It also costs a lot.
Monstrous Blood (2): I have mixed feeling on this scroll, as it only works with creatures with the same name. Could be really powerful if you decide to bring all 4 Ilmire creatures (Hunter, Witch Doctor, Rot Eater and Tribesman).
Cannonetta (3): The only tier 3 scroll fo Energy this time. It comes with a brand new ability that lets you also attack the creature behind for half the damage. Can be interesting with Machinated
Wings Captain (3): Absolutely Fantastic scroll or the Order Faction, that Move 2 will be deadly when it arrives. With Fleetness it's a game ending combo in my opinion if you know what you are doing. By itself it's also ok 3/2/4 for 4 Mana.
Darkstrike (2): Good scroll for the upcoming DE decks. Essentially a Spark that gives Decay if the affected unit dies.
Eager Scryer (1): Bad scroll that only makes sense to use if you also have a Mystic Altar over there.
Fierce Tactics (3): Growth is getting really nice scrolls! Now creatures like the Mangy Wolf, Breaker, Berserker or Veteran will be more powerful during the turn this spell is casted.
Erode (1): Lame ramp-up scroll that weakens the few good Growth structures.
Sickening Fumes (1): Just another kind of Draining Mist or a wide Athropy. You'd rather use a more offensive scroll.
Fungify (1): The defensive counterpart of Machinated. I prefer increased attack over health.
Machinated (2): See above.
Monstrosity (3): Great Scroll that gets buffed when there are adjacent Monstrosities. Even better if you manage the fit Monstrous Blood. For the cost it gives great damage and has an ok amount of HP.
Unforeseen Onslaught (1): Would only make sense in intricate EG decks with ragged wolves, sisters of the fox, rats, etc. Otherwise extremely bad.
Owl (1): A terrible scroll on its own, see Sister of the Owl below.
Pest Dissimulator (2): Innovative scroll for the new faction. The poison/curse ability is extremely effective. The major downside of this scroll is that you must wait 3 turns until it attacks. And in the meanwhile the opponent can organize their creatures to avoid strong damage.
